Product Information

These 18mm OSB3 tongue & groove loft boards are built for boarding out lofts quickly and to a proper standard. Manufactured to BS EN 300 as a load-bearing board rated for humid conditions (Service Class 2), OSB3 copes with the temperature and moisture swings typical of UK loft spaces without the swelling or delamination you get with cheaper chipboard. Each board interlocks via tongue & groove jointing on both long edges for a tight, gap-free fit across joists, and the timber is FSC® certified so it can be specified on jobs requiring documented sustainable sourcing. Supplied as a pack of 3 boards (1220 x 300 x 18mm), giving 1.098m² coverage per pack – useful for pricing up loft boarding jobs by the square metre.

Features & Benefits

  • OSB3 (EN 300) grade – load-bearing and moisture-resistant, rated for the humid Service Class 2 conditions found in most UK lofts
  • Tongue & groove on 2 long edges – interlocking joint reduces gaps, trip hazards and squeaking underfoot
  • 18mm thickness – strong enough to span standard joist centres without excessive flex
  • FSC® certified timber – responsibly sourced, useful where jobs require sustainability documentation
  • 1220 x 300mm board size – manageable for a one-person carry through loft hatches and tight loft spaces
  • Pack of 3 (1.098m² coverage) – straightforward to calculate quantities when quoting loft boarding jobs
  • Consistent panel quality – reliable finish and fit for repeat trade use

Important Information

  • Check joist condition and spacing before boarding – boards are not a substitute for structurally sound joists
  • Where loft insulation is present, use loft boarding legs/raisers to board over the insulation without compressing it and reducing its thermal performance
  • Leave clearance around recessed downlights, water tanks and ventilation, and avoid boarding over areas that need ongoing access
  • These boards are intended for general storage loft boarding, not habitable room flooring – get load requirements checked by a competent person for loft conversions or heavier loads
  • As with all timber-based sheet materials, natural variation in colour, texture and grain is normal and is not a defect
  • Store flat and dry prior to installation
